From September 16th to 19th, the 26th Annual Conference of European Association for International Education (EAIE) was held in the capital city of Czech Republic, Prague. Around 5000 educators from nearly 90 countries and regions attended this bash. On behalf of QTC, President Qin Chuan, accompanied with Xie Jinling, director of International Office, along with Chinese higher education delegation organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) went to Prague to participate in the annual conference. Chinese higher education delegation was consisted of 49 educators from 23 colleges and universities all around China. According to the conference agenda, Chinese higher education delegation took part in the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and several seminars, and also joined the international education show held simultaneously. Jan Muehlfeit, Chairman of Microsoft Europe, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the opening ceremony. Money collector, writer, motivational speaker and adventurer Sybansterry was invited to give a motivational speech on the closing ceremony.
During the conference, representatives from QTC made full use of the communication platform to actively and widely contact participants from other countries, hoping to build cooperating and exchanging relationship. QTC representatives respectively discussed with more than 10 colleges and universities from Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal, Spain and Italy and reached preliminary cooperative and exchanging intention with 2 colleges from Portugal and Turkey. And also, QTC will continue to talk about cooperation program with more colleges overseas.
Our German sister college, Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg (DHBW) happened to attend the conference. President Qin was very pleased to meet with President Nagler from Mannheim campus, DHBW and got acquainted with President Gelsdorf of DHBW. QTC and DHBW carried forward cooperation and exchange with each other. Through serious discussion, in the year 2015, 4 teachers from QTC will head for Mannheim campus, DHBW to do research and study for four weeks and students from Mannheim campus, DHBW will leave for QTC to join summer camp. President Gelsdorf preliminarily decided to visit QTC on April or May next year. Directors of International Office from both sides talked over about the program detail.
Founded in 1989, European Association for International Education (EAIE) is the acknowledged European leadership center for expertise, networking and resources in the internationalization of higher education. This organization holds various forms of annual conference in one of the European countries.
