An Australian Brisbane-based Southbank Institute of Technology (SBIT) visiting group including its Deputy Executive Christina Hong and the Support Services Director Christa George came to QTC October 9 for communication and exchange.
QTC Secretary Liu Pengzhao and President Qin Chuan met the guests and talked with them respectively, hoping the two sides could officially launch a substantial cooperation soon.
After Secretary Liu's visit to SBIT in this August, the International Office of QTC, according to the framework agreement signed there, made a careful study of its curriculum and programs. During the talk, 5 QTC schools' deans were invited to introduce their programs and talk with the guests about the possibilities of in-depth cooperation with SBIT's 11 programs. Qin, during his meeting with the guests, said the two sides could start the cooperation with train the trainers program, music operational management and cultural exchanges, and thus gradually extended to other fields. The Australian guests appreciated the careful preparation by QTC and expressed they would report back what had been discussed and hoped to start the cooperation ASAP.
SBIT, founded in 1863, has over 30,000 registered students, including 1,300 international students, and is the third largest TAFE college in Australia or the largest in Queensland where it is based. (Translated by Li Chengji)
