A group of 8 provincial experts arrived at QTC October 8 to begin a 4-day education assessment of the college.

On the report meeting held at QTC's library that afternoon, QTC Secretary Liu Pengzhao gave a welcome speech, expressing his appreciation for all the experts and leaders' support to the college, and said the college would take this opportunity to reinforce its endeavor to contribute to the local economic and social development and educate and train more skilled and moral students.

Deputy Secretary-General Wang Weiping of Qingdao Municipal Government, on behalf of the local government, welcomed and appreciated the coming of the specialists. The local government paid great attention to this assessment of the college, which would in all rounds examine the college's education quality and also function as an inspector, urging its leadership to better perform their obligation and duty, he said. He hoped the college grabbed the chance to fully promote the education quality and made more contribution to the local economy and society.

The assessment group leader Professor Yang Yingsong, in his talk, said the past 12 years had seen a series of achievements reaped by QTC, which fully demonstrated the college had a wonderful, pragmatic, capable and highly efficient working staff. The group would, together with the college's teachers and students, try to look back what had gone through, find out the useful experiences and thus concluded the potential factors facilitating the college's consistent reform and development, he further mentioned. And the assessment of this time would apply all new techniques and methods, aiming to conduct diagnosis and promote development, he pointed out.

The Education Department Deputy Director of the Provincial Government Mr. Liu Baojun, also the moderator of the first stage of the report meeting, spoke, on behalf of the provincial education department, at the meeting, illustrating the importance of the assessment work and giving his instructions. He said the assessment on one hand would examine thoroughly the college's education in terms of how to position, where to go, what facilities to have, and what the administration was etc, and on the other hand, it would also provide a valuable chance for the college to further boost its overall education capacity. As for the assessment, he hoped the college would coordinate with the specialists, modestly listen to the critics and properly handle the problems to be found.

On the second stage, President Qin Chuan gave a keynote report titledAimed at Educating Skilled and Moral Students, and Cultivating QTC Brand, involving the college's basic information, achievements, education features, existing problems and their rectification coping measures etc. and asked the experts to give more critics, guidance and assistances.
