After the visit in New Zealand, Secretary Liu, as planed, headed for Australia to visit 3 vocational and technical institutes respectively located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane from August 23 to 27.
In Melbourne on August 23, the QTC group was warmly received by the president of Complex Training Academy Mr. Peter. Complex, as a private educational institution, delivers "quality accredited and non accredited training to the general public, the unemployed and at the highest corporate levels", and its training mode of integrating lecturing, practice and employment deeply impressed Secretary Liu and his group. The two sides agreed to build a partnership in terms of culture and students & teachers exchanges.

The day followed, the QTC group came to visit TAFE College of Western Sydney Institute (WSI), where they talked with the Director International Mui Cook in regard to the programs cooperation, vocational education research and teacher's training etc. Both sides believed the cooperation might begin with a mutual recognition of each other's credits and setting up joint programs.

Secretary Liu Signed Agreement with Dr. Pim Borren
On August 27, the group signed a framework agreement with the Brisbane-based South Bank Institute of Technology (SBIT) covering teacher's training, students exchange and program cooperation etc. Secretary Liu and SBIT Chief Executive Dr. Pim Borren agreed to further negotiate the details at QTC later this year. The framework signed marks another new breakthrough of QTC's overseas cooperation and this is also the first time for QTC to build a partnership with a public Australian institute. (By Li Chengji)
