The translator of Norwegian Wood, professor of Ocean University of China, Lin Shaohua, gave an academic lecture on Solitude: Defense and Transcendence---A Talk Beginning with Haruki Murakami on May 3rd. On his contemplation of solitude as well as former and present proposition on solitude at home and abroad, Prof. Lin explained the necessity of solitude defense and transcendence at different times and encouraged young students to bear social responsibility simultaneously. Such social phenomenon like “Boy Crisis” was analyzed by Prof. Lin to inspire young students to realize the transcendence between ego and superego.

Prof. Lin is deeply concerned about the development of Zhushan Academy in QTC. Even one month ago, on the unveiling ceremony of Zhushan Academy, he sent a congratulatory message to support its establishment in the midst of pressing affairs.
