For 7 consecutive years, one of QTC's five-star student clubs Xiao Qiang Home Appliance Service Club has contributed its volunteer service to the communities maintaining old electrical appliances for the community citizens.

According to a brief report by a local TV news program, the service club goes into the community every Thursday as well as on some special themed days. On March 5, the national day for Learning from Comrade Lei Feng, the students of the club, using their spare time, came to the Xiangjiang Road community to continue their efforts. Some very small adjustment or welding could be of great importance to the broken electrical units, some of which were so cherished by their owners for many years.

Voluntarily joined by the college's Home Appliance and Mechanical and Electrical Integration students, Xiao Qiang Service Club provides not only convenient service to the communities but also a platform for the students to apply what they have learned theoretically into practical operations.

Over the 7 years, the club has provided on average 4,200 hours service yearly for the community.
