An international concert was held to observe QTC's 60th anniversary and the New Year at Qingdao Grand Theatre on December 28th.

2011 is the 60th anniversary of QTC. In order to show respects and appreciation to those who have supported and cared the college's development, QTC specially invited Austria Ray Hal Symphony Orchestra to Qingdao to hold a New Year Concert, also the third one of its kind by the college.
Including the splendid performances by QTC teachers and students as the prelude, the concert, with tunes of the world famed masterpieces played, was a great success.

Based on the Vienna New Year's Concert chapters, the concert was also combined with the Ray Hal's waltz and operettas in order to make Chinese audience enjoy the original Ray Hal's style and flavor.
Austria Ray Hal Symphony Orchestra was at the invitation of China's Ministry of Culture to the country to hold 2012 New Year's concerts. After the performance in Qingdao, the orchestra would reportedly go to the country’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to hold another New Year’s Concert, which would be broadcast live by the region's TV station on December 30th .

With a long history and enjoyed a far-famed reputation especially for Ray Hal works, Austria Ray Hal Symphony Orchestra was formed by Austria's distinguished conductor Prof. Eduard Macku.
