On Dec. 19, accompanied by Deputy Secretary Liu Jiamin, President Dr. Shi Zhongjian arrived in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to begin his 4 days working at the region's Tianshan College, a partner college QTC is to assist as scheduled by MOE recently.

Working at Tianshan College
Despite the heavy snow and chilly cold, President Shi visited the college's campus, classrooms and training rooms with the company of Chen Xiangling, the Chairman and Lang Tao, President and Party Secretary of Tianshan College. President Shi also talked with the college's administrators on the cooperating programs in terms of teachers' training, professional development, scientific research and teaching management.

The next day after his arrival, Dr. Shi held a talk with Zhang Jianren, Deputy Director of Education Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, who expressed his appreciation on QTC being the first to reach cooperation agreements with his region's colleges.
In accordance with the recently issued MOE notice, QTC, as one of the 30 colleges and universities selected in China, enters into partnership with Tianshan College in Xinjiang, assisting the latter in its training of students as well as its teachers.

Visiting Urumqi Vocational University
On December 22, Dr. Shi also paid a visit toUrumqi Vocational University, another partner with QTC in the region beginning from July, 2010. He discussed with his counterpart Dang Jinong, President of the university on further bolstering the cooperation between them.
