Aimed to uphold Chinese traditional culture and advance the traditional ethical education, a huge Confucius statue was recently erected at QTC. QTC leaders Secretary Tan Sende and President Shi Zhongjian, Prof. Xu Lizhong, the author of the statue, reps of the local Confucian business chamber, enterprises, and alumni attended the opening ceremony held on October 27.

Opening Ceremony
Secretary Tan Sende, in his speech, pointed out it was exceptionally significant to have the Confucius statue erected at QTC at the historical moment for its new development. The statute not only enhanced the campus cultural settings, but became a new cultural symbol as well, guiding the staffs and their students to sail for a farther prospective target. The statue author Professor Xu Lizhong mentioned the Confucius’ doctrines, as the mainstay of Chinese profound culture, had contributed a great lot to the world modern culture.

A Ritual Ceremony
Many businessmen guided by the Confucianism have charitably financed college students to initiate their own businesses back home. 7 reps of the enterprises gave QTC teachers and students a lecture centered on The Social Responsibilities Shouldered by Entrepreneurs and Students on the day. Chairman Li Chengyou of a Guangdong province based group even donated 56 tablet computers to QTC students.
