Recommended by all members of Academic Committee and approved by QTC CPC Committee, 3 Directors of the Committee were officially appointed by President Dr. Shi Zhongjian to begin their three years’ term.

The Academic Committee, developed from the then Expert Committee, functions as argument, assessment, judgment, and supervision of all academic affairs in the college.

The two college leaders, Research Fellow Tan Sende, Secretary of QTC CPC committee, Dr. Shi Zhongjian, President respectively talked on the ceremony. Secretary Tan expressed his hope that the committee fully exerted its role in teaching and scientific research. President Shi, in his talk, pointed out the academic committee was an integral part of a college, and whatever a college did, the priority should be given to the academic affairs and the specialists. He required that more research should be done on its roles in the governance structure of the college and its schools. The committee itself should discuss more on the working modes, value different point of views and encourage arguments, he further pointed out. He especially gave his acknowledgement to the members of the former expert committee.

The newly appointed Director, Professor Li Yongsheng, said they would cherish the opportunity and fully exerted their roles to contribute to the college development.
