QTC held its 3rd Affairs Meeting of this year at its West Campus on July 15. The meeting, with 77 members, middle-level administrators and staff reps attended and presided by Vice President Qin Chuan, was focused on conclusion, planning and exchanging. All deans and department directors of Teaching and Training, Students Affair, and Employment reported on the meeting in terms of what had been done in the first half year and what to do in the summer and autumn seasons.
Dr. Shi Zhongjian, the President, in his brief talk, appreciated the hard work and accomplishment of all QTC staff, with many key projects and jobs highlighted and having been done efficiently. He also expressed his grief to the 3 colleagues who had passed away in the past half year, and hoped his staff should learn to properly balance their work with relaxation, and paid more attention to the healthcare. As for the key jobs in the next half year, he made his requirements in terms of reforming comprehensively and experimentally in higher vocational education, managing scientifically the key projects, restructuring pragmatically the programs, reforming resolutely the curriculum design, planning scientifically the new blueprints of the 3 campuses, improving progressively the thinking and working mode, and perfecting integrally the managing system. He also called for a further consideration to how to implement the 4-semester system, absorb social capitals as well as exert the roles of Academic Committee etc. Lastly, he asked to solid the work of the 60th anniversary of QTC, which would be a big review and a new milestone in its development.
