An unveiling ceremony for Institute of Xu Lizhong Sculpture Art was held at QTC on May, 26. Named after Professor Xu Lizhong, a state-level artist ranked first and an art practitioner over 40 years, the sculpture institute, as mentioned by the Party Secretary Tan Sende in his congratulatory speech, will vigorously uphold the academic research and disciplinary development of the college.

With plentiful famed sculpture works, Prof. Xu determined to open his research to the students of all programs in the college, conceiving to widen their visual scope outside the campus via the media of arts and technology to foster their innovative and enterprising ability.

President Dr. Shi Zhongjian awarded Prof. Xu’s appointment letter and talked in the ceremony. The opening of the institute was a critical moment for the college, which began a new journey not only for the sculpture art in QTC but for China higher education as a whole, he said.

Many municipal leaders and reps of different art associations or institute also attended the ceremony.
