Memorandum Signed between BTC and QTC

Headed by Dr. Zhou Lin, President of Bates Technical College (BTC, USA), a US delegation, including Ms. Christina Blocker, Trustee of BTC, Mr. Keith Blocker, Council Member of Tacoma City Government, and senior Engineer Jason Zhu of Infoblox Company paid a visit to Qingdao Technical College (QTC) on June 13.

QTC President Prof. Qin Chuan held an in-depth talk with the US guests and subsequently signed a cooperative memorandum in terms of teachers and students exchange, apprenticeship education, college-industry cooperation, and collaboratively participating in World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics for its students support service.

The visiting group also toured QTC campus and was deeply impressed with the college’s facilities and cultures.

It’s learned that BTC was founded in 1940 by Tacoma City government, and has three comprehensive campuses, offering degree and certificate programs in a variety of industries including firefighting, preschool education, dentist etc. The degrees offered by BTC are recognized by China MOE.

The biggest of its kind in the state of Washington, BTC is also renowned for its apprenticeship programs and keeps good partnerships with the state-based enterprises like Boeing and Amazon.
